Fran Cummins – Team Captain
Fran started running non competitively around the hills of Derbyshire as a teenager. But it was at university in Edinburgh that she started to run more seriously, joining the Edinburgh Hare and Hound running club. She was living near the Pentland Hills and that is where her love of hills started. Fran entered all the local fell races, as well as some road events and got the first taste of ‘proper’ cross country.
Since moving back to Sheffield she has been running for Steel City Striders and over the last couple of years got into the ultra scene. Her aspirations for HRRC are to be part of a supportive club that is inclusive for everyone. She can’t wait to introduce people to our amazing trails and hills around Sheffield and long term she hopes to help develop a competitive fell team as well as road and cross country. Fran is also looking forward to some long social running weekends in the Lake District and Wales.
