David Palmer – Head Coach
David is well known on the Sheffield running scene, having run with Steel City Striders for many years apart from one year with Hallamshire Harriers.
David joined Steel City in 2006 as he began to race more regularly and it was in Berlin in 2010 when he set himself the challenge of running a sub 2:30 marathon, despite not having run under 3:00 at the time. Following a well planned training programme David achieved this in Rotterdam in 2015 running it in 2 hours and 28 minutes.
David joins HRRC with the goal of helping runners set aspirational goals and achieving them through consistency in training and sensible training schedules. David manages our track schedules and Tuesday night sessions and brings a wealth of training and racing experience.
